Maritime and Seafood Industry rings in the New Year

What better way to open the new decade than with an Oyster Ball drop?

For the fourth year in a row, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum celebrated New Year’s Eve by dropping a giant oyster ball. Almost 400 guests celebrated the end of 2019 with good seafood and fun.

Rough Water from Mobile performed live for guests as they danced the night away waiting for midnight and the drop of the oyster ball.

Outreach Program Coordinator for the Museum Corey Christy tells News 25 there’s no better way to celebrate the New Year here on the Coast. “It’s something very unique to the Coast. It’s something that helped build Biloxi. So, we wanted to call back to that, do something that really made up stand out. We were the first ones to drop an oyster ball around here.”
