Man shot multiple times in George County, transported to hospital by helicopter

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) — Investigators are searching for the person responsible for shooting a man multiple times at the Benndale Superstore.

Authorities say that at approximately 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, multiple agencies responded to a report of a person being shot at a residence on Bradley Road, in the Benndale Community of George County.

The male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was met by deputies at the Benndale Superstore and was flown via medical helicopter to an area hospital.

The George County Sheriff’s Office, District 4 First Responders, and ASAP Emergency Medical Services all responded to the call.

George County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are searching for a person of interest in this case, and more information will be released as it become available.

This is an ongoing investigation.
