Man sentenced to 30 years for armed robbery
A Gulfport man is sentenced to 30 years behind bars for a 2015 armed robbery and aggravated assault.
District Attorney Joel Smith announced today that 24-year-old Raheem Tyrese Richardson pled guilty to the crimes earlier this week. With ten years suspended, Richardson will serve a total of 20 behind bars. The conviction stemmed from an October 31st, 2015 shooting that occurred on Mississippi Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he spent a month recovering from his injuries.
During Richardson’s plea, he admitted to shooting the victim multiple times, but said he was under the influence of drugs and did not remember a lot of the details.
