M.D.O.T. Works on Lighting Fixtures Under Pascagoula Bridge

Wednesday and Thursday, drivers will see some congestion on I-10 between exit 61 and 63. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (M.D.O.T.) will be working on lighting fixtures under the Pascagoula Bridge.

After the project is completed, the navigation channels of the West Pascagoula River will be set aside for marine traffic. Wednesday, M.D.O.T. closed the right hand lane of I-10 over the Pascagoula Bridge in order to complete the eastbound side of the lighting project.

Michael Harter of M.D.O.T. says, “Our work today is going to be the installation of some navigation lights that are actually solar powered. So in order to get those installed, we have to close down the right hand lane for a period of about six hours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.”

Thursday, M.D.O.T. will close the right hand lane of westbound I-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well. M.D.O.T. asks for drivers’ patience with minor delays on I-10 between exits 61 and 63.
