Long Beach primary candidates discuss local issues

Multiple candidate town halls were held in different Harrison County cities this evening as the race to reach voters before April 6th heats up.

The Harrison County Republican Club held forums for primary candidates in Gulfport and Long Beach as a way to continue voter outreach.

In Long Beach, board and mayoral candidates introduced themselves to the public and fielded questions from citizens.

Republican Club President Tom Carpenter says there are many topics of importance that Long Beach leaders will face in the years to come and that’s a big reason why these forums were scheduled. Harrison County Republican Club President Tom Carpenter said, “There are several big issues of economic development, there’s the issue of the casino. There’s always the ever-present question of infrastructure, drainage, transportation, maintenance, and growth.”

Carpenter also says forums for general election races in Harrison County are a possibility for the Republican Club.
