Long Beach Police Investigating Death as Homicide

Police are investigating the death of a Long Beach woman as a homicide. According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, 48 year old, Kimberly Watts of Long Beach, was the victim in what is now an ongoing investigation.

Long Beach Police say they responded to a call at about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning at 295 Woodcrest Drive in reference to Watts’ death. Long Beach Police are investigating the case as a homicide as Watts’ autopsy is underway. Tuesday night, neighbors in the quiet community of Woodcrest Drive are trying to wrap their heads around the situation.

Kevin Hicks of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and a resident of Woodcrest Drive, says, “It’s very quiet, most of the neighbors know each other. Most of them talk to each other, know who comes and goes. It’s very quiet, very isolated. The only instance we’ve ever had here, if anything.”

Hicks lives just down the street and says he hasn’t heard of the police being called to Woodcrest Drive for any reason in recent months. Police are asking anyone with information on this case, to contact the Long Beach Police Department at (228) 865-1981 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
