Long Beach Middle School Holds Veterans Day Program

Long Beach students welcomed veterans to the middle school for the fifth annual Veterans Day Program hosted by the student council.
Service men and women were entertained by the choir and band while being honored for serving our country. The school presented a check for $1,700 to the Veterans Community Living Center in Biloxi to help restore some of the recreational activities that have been eliminated from lack of funding. The donation was raised by the students at Long Beach Middle School.
Student Council Advisor Blair Ryle said, “I feel like the military is one of the most important jobs in our country. They’re sacrificing their lives for us and I think it’s really important that our students feel the patriotism that our older generations felt. It’s really important that we have these veterans come and the kids are able to recognize them.”
Students went above and beyond their goal of raising more money this year by one hundred dollars.
