Local officials visited the Secretary of State’s Gulf Coast office to witness the continuing support of our coastal resources

Secretary of State Hosemann said,

"It’s critical to the coast, it’s almost 10 million dollars. It’s up from 6 million when I started. This is access for the coast, its research for the coast."

The 9.7 million dollar check is the largest Tidelands amount to date to be returned to the Gulf Coast. The check comes from lease-holders and is delivered to the DMR after the close of the fiscal year.
