Local Law Enforcement Holds 9/11 Memorial Service

Four hundred and forty one of the victims who died on September 11th were emergency workers in New York City who responded to the attacks.

Thursday morning at the L.H. Red Barnett Senior Center, the Moose Lodge, and D’Iberville Police and Fire Departments held a flag raising ceremony to remember the victims of September 11th. The Deputy Fire Chief, Danny Miller, tells News 25 it’s always appreciated when their service is recognized.

Miller says, “It gives us a good reason for doing it. We don’t usually look for the glory in all of it. We do it because we care, but it really does make a difference to us and we actually feel appreciated when events like this happen.”
