Local Firework Sales for New Year’s Eve
Many ring in the New Year by lighting up the sky with fireworks. Has the expected rainfall on New Year’s Eve put a damper on local firework sales?
Employees at S & E Fireworks in Woolmarket tell News 25 they opened last week for the holiday and have seen a good amount of people shopping for fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Even though the wind has knocked some of the inventory inside the tent, the expected rain has not dropped sales at this stand. Joel Handler with S & E Fireworks said, “Pretty good, getting a lot of business. With the rain, it’s kind of messing up things, things falling and stuff, but it’s been good.”
The owner of a firework tent on Highway 49 above Highway 53 tells News 25 the strong winds and rain could have a negative impact on sales this weekend, but so far their business is running smoothly.
