Local authorities preparing for storm
With Tropical Storm Nate approaching fast, it’s important for residents to be safely secure and well prepared if the worst comes to worst.
Residents along the Coast are preparing by stocking up supplies, keeping their gas tank full, and keeping a close eye on the radar. With multiple events over the weekend, like the Gulfport Music Festival, local authorities will be working nonstop to make sure everyone stays safe.
Authorities tells News 25 the precautions that should not be taken lightly. “As an agency we are preparing for the storm as if it’s a large scale event. We just want our residents to take precautions make sure your vehicles are fueled up obviously and food and water.”
Harrison County EMA Director Rupert Lacy said, “The message we are trying to push out to folks and residents is do not look at the center line of the cone, look at the whole cone because Tropical Storm Nate can wobble back and forth.”
