Krewe of Neptune visits Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School
The Krewe of Neptune joined students at Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School for a walking parade.
Students enjoyed their own parade before heading down to the big Krewe of Neptune’s parade tomorrow night.
While some of the kids enjoyed riding in the parade, others enjoyed catching the beads, moon pies, and candy.
After the parade, students enjoyed meeting the Krewe of Neptune’s king and queen. Queen of Neptune Frances Buchanan said, “We got to participate and be a part of it. I remember back when I was in elementary school, we did something similar. So, it was a really cool thing to be a part of it.”
King of Neptune Jeff Descher said, “We got to throw beads to the kids. They were super excited to be with us and we were able to take pictures and get them in the Mardi Gras spirit and ready for the parade tomorrow.”
The Krewe of Neptune parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will include 41 floats, 15 marching bands, three fire trucks, multiple police units, a horse and carriage, and 15 other types of parade units.
If you can’t get to the parade, you can watch it on WXXV Fox 25.
