Krewe of Neptune floats roll into Biloxi
The big parade isn’t until Saturday night, but the Krewe of Neptune floats are already in Biloxi.
Sixteen colorful floats from New Orleans rolled into the Coast Coliseum this afternoon. From large jungle animal statues to painted thrones designed for kings and queens, the floats used for the Krewe of Neptune Parade are unlike any others on the Coast.
Come Saturday these floats will be packed with roughly two million beads to be thrown at Saturday’s parade. Krewe of Neptune President Gerald Everette said, “Something we’re really excited about is 15 marching bands. We’re bringing bands from all over the South East. Montgomery, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and they’re here to put on a show.”
Everette says there will be 45 floats in total and all together 70 units in the parade. The Krewe of Neptune Mardi Gras Parade will roll at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Biloxi. You can also catch all the action live on WXXV FOX starting at 6 p.m.
