Jim Rafferty wins Pass Christian mayoral race

Tuesday polls opened across the Coast for municipal general elections and multiple cities elected new leaders.

Rafferty says he has spent his entire career in the human resources field and says one of his major objectives is to build a more inclusive city.

When asked what his first priority was, Rafferty tells News 25 he is hoping to develop Downtown Pass Christian. One area he specifically wants to focus on is North Street. “We have to, you know, make some significant developments there in order to really build a robust Pass Christian. Pass Christian is one of the premiere places to live, work, and play on the Coast and we wanna make it even greater.”

For Alderman Ward 1, Independent Betty Sparkman won against Republican James Clarke ‘Buddy’ with 57% of the votes.

For Ward 3, Republican Kirk Kimball beat Democrat Anthony Baba Hall with 63 percent of the votes.
