Jackson County Runoff Wrap Up

Jackson County voters have spoken and one incumbent supervisor will return to office, while another still has to win the general election.
After runoff election results last night, District 1 Supervisor Barry Cumbest will keep his seat. He defeated challenger Sabrina Smith. Cumbest had 54 percent of the votes. Smith received 46 percent.
District 4 Supervisor Troy Ross also triumphed over Tommy Brodnax, 54 percent to 46 percent. Ross still has one final election to go to determine whether or not he keeps his seat. “Well, the fact that every race I’ve been in, we’ve had a runoff. So, we’ve had three out of three chances to have a runoff and my supporters have always come out in remarkable fashion. I think, because of their commitment and their willingness to help and dig down, I think we’ll win in November without any problem.”
Ross will be running against Independent David Venus and Democrat Sean Alawine in the November 3rd general election.
