It’ll be a quiet night with only isolated rain chances through the 4th

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead

Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 77 degrees.

Thursday brings plenty of sunshine and a high near 93, but it will feel closer to 105 degrees during the afternoon. A brief shower or thunderstorm is possible between late morning and early afternoon, though most locations will stay dry.

Friday and the 4th of July look ideal for outdoor plans, with mostly sunny skies, highs in the mid 90s, and warm evenings in the upper 70s. Widespread rain is not expected, but a few isolated showers remain possible. However, the summer heat will be the biggest concern.

If you start feeling dizzy, weak, nauseous, or develop a headache after being out in the heat, it could lead to heat exhaustion. Get into the shade or air conditioning, drink plenty of water, and take a break before it becomes more serious.

Rain chances begin to increase slightly late in the weekend and into next week. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms return Sunday through Wednesday, with highs holding in the lower to middle 90s. While not everyone will see rain each day, a few storms could provide brief downpours and lightning before fading after sunset.
