Inaugural South Mississippi Boat Show took place this weekend
Those who enjoy boats and fishing gathered at Point Cadet Plaza over the weekend for the inaugural South Mississippi Boat Show.
Plenty of boats were on display and some were for sale out at the plaza. Live bands, food trucks, activities, and vendors were also available for those that attended the event.
DMR and USM also had displays for the children to enjoy.
To show appreciation for first responders and military, they received 50 percent off the ticketed price. Event Organizer Alan Pitalo said, “It has been a lifelong dream of mine to have the boat show here on the Point. My dad grew up about four blocks away and my brother has the Gulf Coast Cobia Tournament 35 years now kicking and we just kind of got a little motto ‘Pitalo’s on the Point.’ I have always dreamed of having a boat show here at home.”
Pitalo says he is looking forward to making this an annual event.
