Hummingbird Festival at Pascagoula River Audubon Center

The Pascagoula River Audubon Center will be humming next week.

On September 13, the Audubon Center will be hosting their first ever ‘Hummingbird Happy Hour.’

Guests will be able to enjoy a ‘hummingbird cocktail’ along with craft beer, wine, snacks, and an opportunity to meet hummingbird experts. There will also be a chance to purchase hummingbird-themed shirts and glasses along with native plants.

This is a part of a weekend-long ‘Hummingbird Festival’ held at the Audubon Center.

Many real-life hummingbirds are flocking to the Audubon Center as they are making their way south for the winter. Pascagoula River Audubon Center Outreach and Facilities Associate Andrea Belcher said, “It is a great idea to come out to the festival and the happy hour because exploring nature is such an incredible adventure. It’s right here in Moss Point. It is a hidden gem. If you haven’t visited us it is about time you come in and relax on the bayou during the sunset, have a beer, and see the hummingbirds.”

Anyone over the age of 21 is welcome to attend the event on Friday night. The happy hour will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets online at Pascagoula.audubon.org.
