House hit by lightning in Harrison County

A home was hit by lightning on Sweet Bay Dr. in Harrison County shortly before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday as severe weather moved through the area.

There was heavy lightning and rain at the time the fire was reported. Two people were inside the home at the time but they were able to escape unharmed.

Fifteen men and six trucks from Harrison County Fire Rescue, CRTC, and Gulfport Fire responded  to the fire. The units were able to keep the fire confined to the attic area. There were no injuries reported.
