Gulfport Firefighters receive training on LVADS
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport firefighters recently received specialized training for life-saving care.
Officials from the University of Mississippi Medical Center came to the Coast last week.
During that visit, they provided training on left ventricular assist devices.
This training equips firefighters with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize complications and provide emergency care to patients who rely on the devices.
The fire department says they appreciate the training and helping the team stay prepared.
