House Bill 1322 in effect in July

Breweries will open taps and be able to sell their product inside their business.
House Bill 1322 goes into effect this Saturday, just in time for the Fourth of July weekend. The bill allows craft breweries to sell two cases of 12 ounce bottles to their customers instead of previously being restricted to giving samples.
Members of local distributing companies believe this bill will not only increase exposure of local craft breweries, but also bring in extra cash flow. Jeff Bertucci with F.E.B. Distributing Co. said, “I think we still have a lot of room to grow here locally in our craft beer market and this is just one more piece that adds to that, adds to the exposure and again like I said giving the breweries a little shot of revenue where they can reinvest in their business.”
Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is hosting a celebration Saturday for the big day with live music and a ‘Let Freedom Run’ 5K starting at 9 a.m.
A brand new tap lineup will debut along with special keg offerings throughout the day.
