Hope Haven Open House Celebration

Hope Haven Children’s Advocacy Center in Waveland hosted an open house to celebrate their recent accreditation by the National Children’s Alliance.

The celebration was also to raise community awareness of their mission and to give awards to local law enforcement who have gone above the calls of duty in working with Hope Haven Agency, making sure children are safe and unharmed.

Matt Sekinger was awarded the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 2021 and Jamie Nelson was awarded Law Enforcement Officer of 2020. Hope Haven Executive Director John James said, “We have a tremendous job and work together to ensure that cases involving serious abuse of children are prosecuted and investigated together and prosecuted when appropriate. We rely on our partners to do that.”

Hope Haven supports children and families each year through family advocacy programs that provide the necessary tools to respond to each child’s unique needs following sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and neglect.
