Holiday Open House

Christmas has officially has gone to the dogs as the dogs and a few cats, at the Humane Society of South Mississippi. As part of their 8th annual “Open House” holiday celebration, the Humane Society provided adoption specials, and deals on shots and microchipping for pets. Animal lovers also had a chance to have their furry friend photographed with Santa, and excel by 5 was on the scene providing some Christmas themed arts and crafts projects for children while Gulfport Elementary School Choir performed some Christmas classics.

“We’re just pushing donations of any kind, dog treats, dog toys, kitty litter, blankets, towels.. Anything of that nature.. This is the perfect time to give these animals a loving deserving home. We have over three hundred animals here at the shelter so it’s really important that this is the first place you come to shop, to adopt these animals.”

All the proceeds from pet photo with Santa go towards the “Have A Heart” fund, which provides heartworm treatment for heartworm positive dogs.
