Holiday Book Drive at Barnes and Noble

Come Christmas morning many kids will wake to find toys and electronics under the tree, but Barnes and Noble is asking you to give the gift of reading while giving back to the community this year.
Each year, Barnes and Noble locations country wide partner with local schools and charities to donate the books to local children. This year, Barnes and Noble in Gulfport is partnered with Gaston Point Elementary School and CASA.
So far this year, they’ve donated about 2,000 books. If you’d like to help Barnes and Noble Gulfport reach their goal of 2,500 all you have to do is walk in, select a book to purchase and donate, all while getting a little last minute Christmas shopping in as well. Brenda Blount with Barnes and Noble Gulfport said, “Because the gift of literacy continues for children throughout. Everyone has a favorite childhood book that they have. Many of our generous customers and our booksellers have donated a book that meant a lot to them when they were a child. Getting kids reading gets them a lifelong learning experience and a lifelong love of reading.”
The drive is set to end January 1st.
