High School Softball: St. Patrick vs. Bogue Chitto (game 2)

The St. Patrick Softball Program is no stranger to making deep runs in the post-season, but a stranger indeed to its second round opponent: Bogue Chitto.

The Lady Irish had never played the Lady Bobcats prior to Tuesday’s 3-2 victory.

Lady Irish moving on to the quarterfinals of the class 2A playoffs, sweeping the Lady Bobcats with a pair of 3-2 victories.

St. Patrick Catcher Raven Blackwell said, “Right, right. It’s exciting, we’ve been here the past couple years. But every time it’s like a new feeling, you’re always excited to keep going further, you want to push harder and keep getting there.”

St. Patrick Head Softball Coach Kelli Mullen said, “”These girls are some of the hardest working girls, lots of leadership on this team. They come in, you don’t have to tell them to do anything. They come in, they set up, they warm up, I mean they basically practice themselves. Really strong girls, they have a lot of heart, they love the sport and a lot of passion.”

The Lady Irish will take on the winner of Taylorsville and Loyd Star in the quarterfinals of the class 2A playoffs.
