High School Football: Harrison Central vs. Jefferson Davis County

For the last six years, hosting the Shrimp Bowl has been a joint effort between Gulfport and Biloxi. In the spring, a difference in opinion opened the door for a new tradition on the Gulf Coast in the form of the Port City Bowl.
Tonight, Gulfport and Harrison Central tag-teamed the event at Milner Stadium. The Red Rebels kicked off the double header versus Jefferson Davis County in its first game since merging Bassfield and Prentiss.
3A Jefferson Davis County High School wins its first ever football game by the final score of 25-10.
There’s a lot of pride in having made the inaugural Port City Bowl a gleaming success. Gulfport Assistant Athletic Director Donny Fuller said, “I heard a guy say one time people don’t know what all goes into an event like this. They think the little fairies do it and we’ve been able to pull it off with all these people dealing with different bands, different cheerleader coaches, different teams and administration and all. It’s been great.”
All profits from tonight’s games will go directly towards the charity Feed my Sheep.
