Harrison County prepares for bad weather

With the possibility of a named storm making landfall sometime this weekend, Harrison County has begun preparing.

The Harrison County Emergency Management Agency is keeping a close eye on the non-tropical system that is making its way into the Gulf. Even if the storm isn’t named, residents can expect heavy amounts of rainfall over the weekend.

Harrison County Emergency Management Director Rupert Lacy tells News 25 that while residents shouldn’t expect the worst this weekend, this is a great opportunity to refresh hurricane plans.

“We’re going to need to be vigilant,” Lacy said. “If you haven’t thought about your hurricane plans, this is a good time to kind of say ‘Hey, maybe I have to think about that hurricane plan’ and know what you’re going to do.”
