Harrison County law enforcement agencies host 31st annual Feed the Needy

For 31 years, ‘Feed the Needy’ has been a Thanksgiving tradition in Harrison County.

Law enforcement agencies from all over the county come together to give all the Thanksgiving fixings to those in need.

This annual event was scaled back due to practicing COVID-19 safety protocols as only a limited number of meals were packaged and delivered.

‘Feed the Needy’ wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers looking to make sure everyone can enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for the holidays. Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy Dan Williams said, “It’s a great time to help out and help the community and feed the people and everything, the homeless and all that. We do a good job. I appreciate the inmates working with us and everything.”

The same ‘Feed the Needy’ format will take place for Christmas this year as well.
