Hancock Chamber Education Committee honors high school seniors with appreciation breakfast
It was an emotional day for the 2023 senior classes of Hancock County as they prepare to say goodbye to high school.
The Hancock Chamber Education Committee held its 11th annual High School Seniors Appreciation Breakfast at Hancock High School.
For the first time since COVID-19, seniors from all private and public schools of Hancock County were celebrated under one roof.
This year’s guest speaker was University of Southern Miss Men’s Basketball Head Coach Jay Ladner. Coach Ladner says it was an honor to be able to impart his wisdom on this group of seniors. “Well, I talked to them from experience, the things that I think that it takes for them to be successful and happy later on in life. Have a passion for what you’re doing, be accountable to yourself, don’t blame others, be grateful. Those were a few of the things that we passed on to them this morning.”
Following the breakfast, Hancock High seniors received their caps and gowns along with other mementos from their favorite faculty members.
