Gulfport woman charged in arson, robbery cases

A Gulfport woman has been charged in a burglary and arson case.

Gulfport Police said in a press release that Sumer Ree Treadaway, 42, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of arson and one count of burglary of a residence.

According to the press release, officers responded at 12:40 a.m. to a residence at McGuire Circle about a small fire. During the investigation, Treadaway was developed as a person of interest.

Later that night, at about 2:50 a.m., Gulfport Fire Department was working a structure fire in the 4200 block of Searle Avenue when the Gulfport Police received a 911 call from a residence located in 300 block of 42nd Street regarding a burglary and another fire.

Treadaway is being held without bond because of previous charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and robbery.
