Gulfport police make fourth arrest in New Year’s Eve shooting case
Gulfport Police announced another arrest in connection with the New Year’s Eve shooting in Gaston Point that left four dead.
Police said Breanna Necole Riley, 23, was arrested Tueday and charged with hindering the prosecution or apprehension of another for conduct constituting a felony.
Riley was taken to the Harrison County jail, where she is held on a $50,000 bond.
Riley is the fourth person arrested, following the Jan. 7, 2022, arrests of Mario Clark, 23, on charged with second degree murder and two counts of shooting into a dwelling; Vincent Jaquan Armstrong, 18, charged with second degree murder and two counts of shooting into a dwelling; and Khalid Williams, 26, charged with second degree murder, two counts of shooting into a dwelling and one count of possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.
On New Year’s Eve, Gulfport Police responded to the 1200 block of Lewis Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting.
A crowd had gathered and a physical confrontation escalated into shots being fired by multiple people.
Officers found six men and one woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Aubrey Lewis, Corey Dubose, Cedrick McCord, and Nathaniel Harris all succumbed to their injuries. Two men and one woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Clark and Armstrong were taken to the Harrison County jail where they are each being held with no bond on the murder charge and $500,000 for the shooting into a dwelling.
Williams was taken to the Harrison County jail, where he is being held with no bond on the murder charge and $550,000 for the shooting into a dwelling and gun possession charges.
