Gulfport Main Street receives $80,000 grant
A check for $80,000 was awarded to Gulfport Main Street today to begin phase two of the Organization’s master plan.
The grant was awarded today at City Hall from the Knight Foundation through the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and will include major renovations to downtown Gulfport. Gulfport Main Street is a non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding and revitalizing downtown Gulfport.
Director Laurie Toups tells News 25 what residents can expect with the new phase. “Phase one began in 2006 with the introduction of Gulfport Main Street and now we are taking it to the next level with bringing on more façade grants, more art projects, more street scape programs, more of everything.”
Planning for phase two will include a focus group session and will end with a public presentation of recommendations.
