Gulfport Central Middle School students praised for quick action after another student brings gun
School officials are praising students for their quick action after a boy brought a pistol to Gulfport Central Middle School today.
District Spokeswoman Sandy Commer-East tells News 25 the student, an 8th grader, was filming himself with a gun in the bathroom.
Other students saw the boy with the weapon and reported it to school officials within minutes and that’s when the resource officer handled the situation.
Commer-East said she did not know whether the weapon was loaded.
Superintendent Glen East praised the students for their quick response to seeing a weapon on campus.
