Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence receives funding from MSAG Office
The Mississippi Attorney General announced nearly $1.5 million for groups that help human trafficking victims, including one local organization.
The Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence will get a little more than $241,000. The center says the funds will be used for training on identifying sex trafficking and connecting survivors to program services.
Nine agencies across the state will receive funds, distributed through the Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund.
In a statement, AG Fitch says these groups are the leaders in helping victims of violence in every corner of Mississippi.
She also thanked the state legislature for ensuring the fund had the proper appropriation.
