Groundbreaking on new West Harrison Middle School

It’s time to get to work. That was the message from Harrison County Superintendent of Education Roy Gill at the groundbreaking of the new West Harrison Middle School.

The project is part of the $55 million bond issue that voters passed back in November 2018. The school will incorporate new technology, a state of the art band hall, practice fields, and security system.

Gill tells News 25 it is fitting the groundbreaking took place exactly one year after residents in Harrison County voted on the project. “Voters in Harrison County spoke loud and clear. It’s so nice to be here today to actually see it through and begin work on this project. We are very excited because once we get this school built, it will add so much to the district.”

Class will begin at the new West Harrison Middle School in August 2021.
