Fun-Filled Weekend Ahead in Pascagoula
"We are looking forward to once again seeing Pascagoula filled with people and classic cars," said Mayor Jim Blevins. "We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have this event restored, and cannot thank Cruisin’ the Coast and the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra enough for their partnership in this endeavor."
The festivities will begin at the scenic Beach Park with Bachtoberfest, a Bavarian-themed festival featuring food, music and entertainment. Last year’s event was so successful it was a complete sellout, and this year is expected to offer even more. Bachtoberfest will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature unlimited cuisine from 20 cooking teams, children’s activities, an oompah band, and a beer garden. Admission and festivities in the park are free, and tickets for unlimited cuisine from the cooking teams are only $20 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
At the end of Bachtoberfest at 2:00, cruisers will drive from Beach Park to the Pascagoula Riverfront for the Inaugural ‘Goula Cruise event. Cruisers and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the beauty of the beachfront, downtown and the longest free-flowing river in the United States. Attendees will also find arts and crafts vendors at the Riverfront along with food, beer, kids’ activities, and live music performed by Amanda Jones, Mirage, and Chevy 6. While there, visitors can also vote on their favorite cars! ‘Goula Cruise is open to the public, and admission is free.
Both events will feature fun activities for children, including bounce houses, face painting, balloon clowns, a derby race, rides on the giant double-decker Radio Flyer wagon and more! There will be a Snaparazzi photo booth for festival-goers to capture memories from the day. Since this will be Cruisin’s kickoff event, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase 2014 Cruisin’ t-shirts from ET Motorgear, the official apparel vendor for Cruisin’ the Coast! These t-shirts are typically a hot commodity and will go fast.
Between Bachtoberfest and ‘Goula Cruise on Sunday, Oct. 5th, which follow the 37th Annual Zonta Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4th, there will be something for everyone to enjoy in Pascagoula the first weekend of October.
