Former Rebels coach leads LSU into SEC West battle

In a homecoming game of sorts, LSU Head Football Coach Ed Orgeron will make his return to Ole Miss tomorrow. Coach O’s departure from Oxford was rather unceremonious, but he still has one fan left in town.
Orgeron went 10-25 during his three seasons as head man of the Rebels and won just three conference games while he was there. He was fired following the 2007 season, leaving behind a fan base that was ready to see him go except one.
During his weekly press conference, Orgeron was asked if there was anyone he still keeps in touch with at Ole Miss. He said no, but he’s hoping for a reunion with an old friend. “I used to stop at the Exxon and get a chicken on a stick and it was fantastic. And I hope that cook is still there and I can stop and say hello to her. That’s about all I remember. (This is in Oxford? At Exxon?) Chicken on a stick, it was phenomenal. (Good chicken on a stick?) Best I ever had. Not better than Raising Cane’s.”
The Tigers and Rebels kick things off from the Vaught at 6:15 p.m. tomorrow. The game will be televised on ESPN.
