Flash Flooding

Remnants of Patricia have made their way to the Gulf Coast and flooding is now a concern.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is asking residents to be aware of the weather. National Weather Service forecasters say we could see four to seven inches of rain. This, along with higher tides, creates a situation for minor coastal flooding in low lying areas. A flash flood watch is in effect for most of south and southwestern Mississippi.
Rupert Lacy with Harrison County Emergency Management said, “The roads have not been wet in so long. We’ve got a lot of oil on those, so the roads are slick. Of course, people just need to make sure they got their wipers on, headlights on. Slow down and give yourself some distance between those vehicles, so that you’re not one of those people involved into an accident.”
