Flame throwing competition at Island View Casino
It’s a Cruisin’ the Coast competition that gives the phrase hot wheels a whole new meaning.
As dusk hit the Island View Casino, the light show came out in front of a crowd of hundreds for the annual flame throwing competition. The contest features cars and trucks suped up to shoot fire from the tail pipes. This year, $600 was up for grabs for the hotrod that could put out the best flame show.
One contestant from South Carolina joined Cruisin’ the Coast for the first time and put his car in the show, hoping to take home the prize. Contestant Jack Moore said, “Car has been built a couple of years, but it’s never actually been to Biloxi and a lot of people said that car needs to be in Biloxi so we said this year we’ll give it a shot. People are super nice and all the restaurants, really everybody has been very nice and we’ll be back.”
Moore says they traveled 600 miles from South Carolina to be here. Nearly ten cars participated in this year’s flame throwing competition.
