Firefighters fight flames on a Pass Christian home

Around 9 this morning, numerous fire departments started fighting a blaze on a house on Fernwood Drive in Pass Christian.

Pass Christian Fire Chief Dwight Gordon said when the flames started two people were inside the home, but they were both able to escape and after being checked out by EMTs it was decided the both of them were okay.

It was a big effort to fight this fire as Long Beach Fire, Harrison County Fire, and CRTC Fire all worked alongside the Pass Christian Fire Department to extinguish the flames. “The great thing about it is we try and get a quick knock down time. Being a full department with several people on duty, we are able to respond quickly. It doesn’t take much for a fire to get ahead of you when you have a long response time or something like that.”

The investigation into the fire is still ongoing.
