Fire shuts down part of Saucier-Lizana Road

A part of Saucier-Lizana Road will remain closed tonight as heavy smoke still lingers in the area.
Fire Chief Pat Sullivan tells News 25 about a half of a mile of Saucier-Lizana Road near Road 211 is closed because of zero visibility in the area. Harrison County deputies are monitoring the area over night and if it seems safe, they will reopen the road. The woods fire, covering about 100 acres, got out of hand and was heading toward the road just between Lennis Cuevas and West Wortham.
Take caution if you are traveling in this area of Harrison County. Sullivan says the smoke could create poor visibility until morning.
