Fire services battle brush fires in Harrison County
Several woods and brush fires broke out in Harrison County Saturday and one is being investigated as arson.
According to Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan, more than 150 acres is estimated to have burned across Harrison County during the day.
Most of the fires were known to have started when home and property owners were trying to burn off fields or debris piles.
Sullivan says the strong winds and dry conditions allowed the fires to build quickly and get out of control.
The Harrison County Fire Marshal’s Office is also investigating at least one of the fires for arson. No injuries were reported or homes damaged.
