Fire crews respond to warehouse explosion in Gulfport

Just before 8 p.m., residents reported hearing explosions in Gulfport just south of Pass Road.

Gulfport fire crews arrived at the scene of a massive fire engulfing a warehouse in the 600 block of Tegarden Road.

It took crews about 45 minutes to put out the flames. About 75 percent of the building was on fire when crews arrived.  News 25 was told the building was vacant at the time of the explosion and the owner uses this building mostly for storage.

Crews are currently working on putting out the rest of the hot spots.
