‘Fintastic Boo Fest’ at IMMS

Looking for a fun fall activity to do with the whole family? This weekend you can get the Halloween experience with a Coastal twist.

Things are getting a little bit spooky over at Ocean Adventures Marine Park in Gulfport, this weekend they’ll be hosting their first ever Halloween special.  It will be all treats and just a few tricks at the first ‘Fintastic Boo Fest’ this weekend. IMMS Director Moby Solangi said, “We wanted to do it in a safe environment. We wanted to do something different, you know, the standard going into neighborhoods. Well, here you’re going to have dolphins and sea lions.”

People of all ages will have the unique opportunity to celebrate Halloween with candy, face painting, hay rides, and more all while learning about marine mammals. Animal Car Staff Supervisor Heath Crawford said, “It’s very important that they learn about the marine mammals because that is part of our environment. They live here just like we live here and we all need to take care of one another.”

This Halloween extravaganza will be more than just a good time, all money raised at this event will go to helping marine mammals. “We have a pygmy killer whale that was stranded a couple of months ago. All of the proceeds not only go towards research and environmental, but they go to helping animals just like that whale that we have.”

Even the animals have been getting ready for this event and they have some special tricks in store. The event takes place this Saturday, October 19th from 5:30 to 8:30. Anyone is welcome to attend. You can get your tickets online or at the door.
