Feed the Needy

Thousands poured into the Lyman Community Center Thursday morning for another Thanksgiving tradition: Feed the Needy. Over 2,600 meals were served in Gulfport, feeding those in need on the Thanksgiving holiday.
Between 3,500 and 4,000 volunteers came out for the annual event. Volunteers helped serve, package or deliver meals to those in South Mississippi. Kids of all ages came out, as well as law enforcement agencies across the Coast. They all had the common goal of serving the community. Volunteer Will Campbell said, “We’re just here, you know, having fun with people and helping people that’s less fortunate than us, doing good things.”
Volunteer Brandon Mazur said, “We’re blessed to have family that actually cook food for us and people who live in tents don’t have that. So, you know, anything for the community.”
This was the 27th annual Feed the Needy event here on the Gulf Coast.
