Spring Fling Takes Over Jones Park

Seniors were finally able to have their fun in the sun today in Gulfport.
After being postponed, Boyington Health and the City of Gulfport hosted Spring Fling. Hundreds of seniors packed into the Barksdale Pavilion to learn valuable info for their health while also having a little fun. Over 30 vendors were on hand for seniors, doing everything from testing blood pressure to helping them tear up the dance floor.
For one resident, it was an opportunity to continue celebrating her 100th birthday. Lorina Hussey, who recently turned 100, said, “I’ve taken part in everything and I’m still going, but I thank God for my health. That’s the main thing.”
Leslie Bucklar with Boyington Health said, “We want the seniors to know what’s available to them out in the community, not just home health. We have Home Depot out here. Maybe they can teach them about how to plant flowers for seniors.”
Seniors were out enjoying the event until 2.
