Fans gather for candlelight vigil on 45th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death
Today marks 45 years since Elvis Presley’s death.
Fans gathered at his Graceland home for a candlelight vigil last night, a highlight of Elvis Week at the popular tourist attraction.
This vigil always draws thousands. His former wife, Priscilla Presley addressed the crowd.
On this day in 1977, Elvis was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious in his home. Doctors said he died of a heart attack likely brought on by his addiction to prescription pills.
The King of Rock and Roll was just 42-years-old.
