Now that it is fall, you will see ripe summer fruits and vegetables fade out, but there’s more to fall than Halloween costumes and hay rides.
With the start of fall last week, News 25 spoke with Jones Produce to find out what the best fall fruits and vegetables you should be keeping on hand this season.
Jones Produce says some of the best vegetables for fall are zucchini, squash, and sweet potatoes. These vegetables aren’t just pretty to look at; they also have many health benefits.
Fall fruits to watch out for at your produce stand and farmers markets are satsumas and apples. Renee O’Neal, part owner of Jones Produce, said, “We love October. We welcome the cool weather too because it gets hot out here in the summer time. Yes, I’ll have displays out front. We’ll also be getting mums in this week, so lots of fall stuff.”
In the coming weeks, Jones Produce will have all of these fruits and vegetables and are also preparing for a load of pumpkins and mums to come in for fall decorations.
