Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Week October 24th-28th

Hurricane season may soon be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean you can let your guard down.
Today, Governor Phil Bryant declared October 24th through the 28th Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Week.
According to the National Weather Service, since 1950 our state has been hit with 772 tornadoes in the months of November, December, January and February.
Just last December, 11 tornadoes killed 11 and injured 56 Mississippians.
Next Wednesday, October 26th at 9:15 a.m., the National Weather Service will issue a statewide test tornado warning on NOAA weather radios.
Schools, government agencies and businesses are encouraged to participate.
