East Central High School seniors graduate at Coast Coliseum

Tonight, the latest class of seniors at East Central High walked across the stage at graduation to receive their coveted diploma.

The students gathered at the Coliseum where they got together for the last time as a class.

Hugs and best wishes were thrown around by peers, teachers, faculty, and many others as they waited to hear their names called.

News 25 spoke with Valedictorian Michael Semrick about his future plans and how much being a part of the class of ’22 means to him. “I mean this class has been through a lot. It’s an honor to be here, an honor to represent my class as valedictorian. We faced a lot through quarantine and losing a classmate, so it’s an honor to finally be here, but I’m going to miss this class. After I graduate, I’m going to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; and I don’t know what I’m going to major in yet. I hope to figure that out there, and that’s about as far as my plans go right now.”

In total, the class graduated with 183 students.
